Danube is the second largest European river that streams through 19 states in its 2780km long flow. For centuries it has created the way of life for people who lived in mutual respect from it and with it. In the part where it comes through Baranya there are largest authentic habitats of swamp wilderness in the middle Danube flow.

Excursion description and timetable
With a drive in a wooden boat we will take you into the untouched Danube nature, trunnions, sand islands; you’ll explore wetlands and meet local fishermen. The area is rich with animal species from which many of them are endangered ones. Our equipment for animal observing (binoculars,) will bring you closer to eagles, kingfishers, deer and wild pigs in their natural surrounding. All of the living world, landscapes and Danube width of 400m will surely leave you breathless.

8:00- departure from Osijek (or another location according to the participant’s accommodation
9:00-9:45- arrival to the Green Island (near Batina), knowing Danube and preparation for voyage
9:45-10:45-Danube drive
10:45-11:45- hiking through wetlands, animal observing
11:45-12:15-sail to the Green Island, refreshment drinks/meal
13:15-return voyage to the Green Island
16:00- arrival in Osijek

Group size: 5-8 people+guide

Transportation: Mini bus

Equipment: Long sleeve clothes are recommended, jacket against the wind, suitable shoes for walks in nature, photo cameras.

Price: 190 kunas (includes guide, transportation, boat, insurance, safety jackets, animal observation equipment, a hat with a net for mosquito protection, coffee/tea and meal)
