Our eco tourism programmes are taking place in Nature Park Kopački rit, Danube, Drava and rural areas of Slavonija and Baranja. These preserved natural and traditional areas are ideal for eco tourism activities such as canoeing, photo safari, schools in nature, bird watching and monitoring of biodiversity which is very rich in these areas.

Starting point for all eco tourist programmes is Eco centre Zlatna Greda. Here, deep in the Danube forests our hospitable guides will greet you and take you to the adventures of rivers, forests and wetlands.
Eco centre Zlatna Greda was established in 2003 as a long term programme of the Association for nature and environment protection Green Osijek. The Eco centre's main goals are the protection and preservation of natural and traditional resources of Kopački rit and the Middle Danube floodplain through activities such as Schools in nature, promotion of natural values, eco tourism, educational visits and workshops, team building in nature, monitoring of biodiversity, presentations, exhibitions, round tables, conferences, development of bicycle routes, networking on local and international level, practical use of sustainable development solutions.
The Eco centre is located in puszta Zlatna Greda. The building was built in the 19th century with a park area of 10500 m2. The infrastructure of the Eco centre offers possibilities for various activities. The Eco centre consists of a park, playground, gazebo for 50 people, wine cellar, visitors centre, multifunctional presentation room equipped with PC, plasma TV, conference chairs.

Kopački rit Nature Park is the biggest preserved natural flooded area on the Danube. It is spread over 23 000 hectares between the rivers Danube and Drava and is one of the biggest fluvial wetland valleys in Europe. In 1993 it was listed as one of internationally valuable wetlands according to the Ramsar Convention. By now in Kopački rit there have been sights of about 295 bird species, more than 400 species of invertebrates and 44 types of fish. Many of them are globally endangered species like, white tailed eagle, black stork and prairie hawk. It's not rare to come across some deer herds, wild boars or otters.
This natural area is a magnet to many nature lovers, pupils and students, adventure seekers and ornithologists who want to see the last wetland wilderness on the Danube.

This great river got its name after the Roman river god - Danubius. The Danube's basin connects 19 countries and over 80 000 000 people which makes it the most international river in the world. Along its course it often changes its appearance, from thick forests and wetland valleys to mountain ranges and gorges. At its half way point Danube creates a unique phenomenon, the so called inner delta. Together with the river the Drava it forms a huge wetland and biologically extremely valuable area – the Middle Danube floodplain. In the part, upstream from the Drava mouth, to the Hungarian border it still keeps its primal form with wild forests and natural sand islands. Flocks of rare and endangered birds, deer and wild boars, and some lonely fishermen are the only residents you will encounter on your way down the Danube.

This beautiful river is one of the last preserved rivers in Europe, and therefore often called "The green heart of Europe". The lower flow of the Drava River forms a natural border between Croatia and Hungary. Natural landscapes, meanders, sand and gravel islands, rich biodiversity and picturesque settlements offer a unique experience to every visitor. The whole areas of Mura, Drava and Danube rivers in Croatia are currently in the process of protection in the form of Biosphere Reserve Mura - Drava - Danube. Downstream from Osijek the Drava is strictly protected within the Kopački rit Nature Park.

Picturesque villages that can be found troughout the entire area are witness to a rich cultural and traditional heritage. In Baranja you can find pusztas and granges, little settlements which resemble some long forgotten villages, with old architecture and only a few inhabitants.
The Croatian part of Baranja, although mostly flat, still has one hill - Banska kosa (Baranja hill). Banska kosa is ideal for vineyards and wine production, and hence full of vineyards, wine cellars, restaurants. The very name Baranja originates from Hungarian - Boranya which means - Wine mother.

Quietly settled on the banks of the Drava River this is a city of rich historical and cultural heritage, lots of parks and green avenues, an old citadel and art noveau buildings offer pleasant enjoyment for all visitors. Stroll down the Promenade, wandering through the old town and citadel, visiting museums, resting in parks, bicycle rides are only few of the activities you can pursue in Osijek.
